General Questions

I provide pet sitting services throughout the Sunshine Coast, from Gibsons to Sechelt, BC. I'm happy to serve clients in all communities within this area.

I care for dogs, cats, and small animals including birds, rabbits, hamsters, and guinea pigs. If you have a pet not listed here, please reach out to discuss your specific needs.

I have years of hands-on experience in animal welfare and private pet care, including previous work as an Animal Care Attendant with the BC SPCA.

I lead with private, on-leash, door-to-door walks and drop-ins — never pack walks — plus overnight in-home care (up to 5 nights) that I handle myself. Trusted Coast walkers under Sunshine Coast Pet Sitting may cover daytime walks when needed. I maintain regular routines, send photo updates after walks, and have experience with anxious pets.

I provide overnight stays (5pm - 7am) 7 days a week. The booking window is within the next 3 months. Book a complimentary meet & greet to discuss your specific requirements.

Services & Rates

I offer three services: private dog walks (~30 minutes), house drop-in visits (~30 minutes), and overnight in-home pet sitting (up to 5 nights, 5pm–7am). Walks are on-leash and door-to-door. Overnight includes feeding, medication when needed, playtime, and daily photo updates.

Dog walks are $35 (~30 min; 60-min walks $55) with package and standing-weekly savings, plus $12 per extra dog in the same household. Drop-ins are $32 (~30 min; 60-min drop-ins $48). Overnight stays are $90/night for small/medium dogs and cats and $100/night for large/giant dogs — flat per night (no stay-length discount), with additional pets 50% off. See the Pricing page for packages, the overnight calculator, and full details.

I stay in your home from 5pm to 7am, ensuring your pets have companionship throughout the night. This maintains your pet's normal routine and reduces stress by keeping them in their familiar environment.

Each overnight stay includes feeding per your schedule, fresh water, litter box cleaning or potty breaks, playtime and exercise, medication administration if needed, and daily photo updates with care reports.

Absolutely. I'm experienced in administering oral medications, injectable medications, and supplements. Just let me know your pet's medication schedule and requirements during the initial consultation.

Yes! I provide daily updates with photos so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pets are happy and well-cared-for. I can also send more frequent updates upon request.

Walks and drop-ins are done by me (Ocea) or a trusted Coast walker under Sunshine Coast Pet Sitting — people I know and have screened, not random app matches. Overnight stays are always with me. You will know who is scheduled before the visit.

Yes. A 5-walk pack is $165 ($33/walk), a 10-walk pack is $310 ($31/walk), and standing weekly walks (e.g. Mon/Wed/Fri) are $30/walk. Packs don’t expire and are per household — one dog per pack walk. Extra dogs (+$12) are never discounted. Details are on the Pricing page.

Walks and drop-ins are booked into about a 1-hour arrival window (for example 10–11am). The exact start within that window depends on the day’s route, traffic, and weather. You still get a photo and notes after the visit.

Booking & Scheduling

Booking starts with a complimentary meet & greet. Book one online (or email if you prefer). After the visit, your household is approved to request walks, drop-ins, or overnight in the client portal — each visit is still confirmed individually.

I accept bookings within the next 3 months. I recommend booking as early as possible, especially during peak seasons. A 25% deposit ($75 minimum / $250 maximum, applied to the invoice) is required only for new-client overnight bookings — refundable with 7+ days’ notice. Returning clients are usually exempt once we’ve built trust.

Overnight: new clients place a 25% deposit ($75 min / $250 max). Cancel with 7+ days’ notice for a full refund; 3–6 days’ notice and the deposit is retained; under 3 days’ notice and 50% of the stay applies (returning overnight clients follow the same notice tiers, usually without a deposit). Walks and drop-ins: 24 hours’ notice, or the visit is billed.

Yes — a complimentary meet & greet is required before paid care. You can book one online; after the visit I’ll approve your household so you can request walks, drop-ins, or overnight in the portal.

Same-week or rush overnight care may be available when my schedule allows — contact me for a quote. Overnight stays are capped at 5 nights; walks and drop-ins are great for shorter needs.

I accept e-transfer and cash. Payment is due upon completion of services. Invoices are provided for your records.

Pet Care & Safety

Safety is my top priority. I follow secure home practices, never leave pets unattended without a plan, use leashes and harnesses appropriately when outdoors, and maintain attentive supervision during playtime and routine care.

If your pet shows signs of illness or injury, I'll immediately contact you and your preferred veterinarian. For emergencies, I'll seek veterinary care right away while keeping you informed throughout the process.

Yes! I have extensive experience working with anxious, fearful, or shy animals. I provide patient, calm care that helps pets feel safe and secure in their own home environment.

I use positive reinforcement techniques and respect each pet's boundaries. I'll follow any specific behavioral guidelines you provide and communicate any concerns with you immediately.

Absolutely! I follow your established routine for feeding, outdoor time, playtime, and rest. Consistency is key to keeping pets happy and comfortable while you're away.

Yes, I'm happy to provide references from satisfied clients. During the meet and greet, I can share contact information for clients who have given permission to be contacted.

However works best for your place: lockbox, door code, hidden key, or someone home at handover. Coast houses vary — we set this up at the meet and greet. Practical tips are on the Home Entry guide.

After each walk I send a quick photo plus short notes — potty, energy, anything unusual, and roughly how long we were out. It is a simple check-in, not a live GPS tracking app.

Emergency Procedures

In an emergency, I'll contact you and your preferred veterinarian immediately. If the situation is life-threatening, I'll seek urgent veterinary care while keeping you informed and stay with your pet until help is available.

For daytime walks I keep a small roster of trusted Coast walkers under Sunshine Coast Pet Sitting so we can cover when needed. Overnight stays are with me; if I cannot fulfill an overnight booking I will work with you directly to find a solution. Please contact me as early as possible if your plans change.

I work with all local Sunshine Coast veterinary clinics including Coast Veterinary Clinic in Sechelt and veterinary services in Gibsons. I can also accommodate visits to your preferred clinic.

For emergency veterinary expenses, I'll contact you immediately for approval when possible. For life-threatening emergencies, I'll act right away to ensure your pet's safety and discuss expenses with you afterward.
